SUCCESS STORY - Majdi Jeljeli

Majdi Jeljeli has been an entrepreneur in the textile industry for some twenty years, working both in France and Tunisia. Since the Tunisian Revolution he has been committed to upgrading Tunisia's clothing sector. He came to the DiasporaLab in Marseille in January 2016 to present his project for creating an eco-responsible (environment, working conditions) label and launch his jeans brand that adheres to strict responsible production criteria. This project is paired with the creating of an import and distribution platform backed by industry actors in the Parisian region.

DiasporaLab Maghreb is an initiative carried out by ACIM and Finances et Conseil Méditerranée in the framework of the EUROMED Invest EU funded project. It was backed by the EUROMED Invest project and the PACA Regional Council. It was set up in partnership with the CCI Marseille Provence, the CCIS of Casablanca and the AHK.

By participating at the DiasporaLab, Majdi Jeljeli was able to present his project to experts and key Tunisian and French investors and establish numerous contacts. The project also has backing from the TWENSA Invest programme carried out by ACIM in Tunisia with support from the Swiss Cooperation.

Since the DiasporaLab, Majdi Jeljeli has carried out several study assignments within Tunisia to meet with Tunisian institutional actors and finalise the business plan for his project.
